What does learning look like at The Ark Kindergarten?
Learning is happening all the time at kindy! Children are naturally curious and like to explore and investigate the world around them, asking questions, seeking answers, and finding things out.
At The Ark Kindergarten we encourage children to develop learning dispositions that will help them to be lifelong learners: curiosity, cooperation, confidence, creativity, commitment, enthusiasm, persistence, problem solving, imagination and communication. We provide learning experiences and invitations based on children’s interests and wonderings through a play-based curriculum. Large and small group learning experiences develop children’s sense of belonging to their kindy group and provide opportunities for children to engage in literacy and numeracy learning. Social learning and friendships develop through shared mealtimes, small group project work and positive interactions with peers and educators. Our learning program is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework, Christian Studies Curriculum Framework, and Keeping Safe: Child Protection Curriculum. Family involvement and feedback is welcomed as we plan to meet the emerging needs of each child.
